OVERVIEW

Immersive Labs approached Tangent with a vision to evolve two strategic areas of their platform: supplier cyber readiness and reporting intelligence for CISOs and enterprise stakeholders. Across two focused, vision-led engagements, we collaborated to bring clarity and opportunity to these challenges crafting forward-looking product concepts that would elevate user experience, automate intelligence, and future-proof the platform for scale.

CHALLENGE

Immersive Labs' platform already helped organisations upskill cyber teams through experiential learning. But as the platform matured, two key product areas needed strategic attention:

·      Supply Chain Readiness: Customers needed to assess and manage supplier resilience in a scalable way, yet the current onboarding and exercise tools were labour-intensive and couldn't be rolled out at scale.

·      Reporting Intelligence: Security leaders lacked a streamlined, effective way to report on progress, justify spend, and communicate cyber readiness across the business.

Both areas shared a core problem: the experience wasn’t built to self-serve, scale, or adapt across varied customer needs.

APPROACH

We kicked off two parallel discovery tracks with Immersive Labs, each rooted in vision thinking rather than immediate delivery. Our goal was to step back from incremental enhancements and imagine what these products could be with the right insight, alignment, and direction.

For both the supply chain and reporting products, we started with deep discovery. This included interviews with end users and internal stakeholders, benchmarking against industry frameworks, and uncovering the pain points that were holding back growth, adoption, and automation. Each sprint surfaced new dimensions of complexity: the fragmented experience for suppliers, the inconsistent quality of CISO reporting, and the underlying need for flexibility across enterprise clients.

Through iterative ideation and prototyping, we collaborated closely with product, design, and strategy teams to align on what success could look like in each area.

SOLUTION

For the supply chain vision, we proposed a bold reimagination of how organisations onboard and assess their third parties. Rather than pushing content at suppliers, the experience is restructured as a guided, self-serve journey that invites supplier engagement from the first click and enables scalable oversight from the client side. A redesigned dashboard surfaces readiness across supplier cohorts, while integrated tools let customers schedule, assign, and tailor exercises based on business needs.

In parallel, the reporting vision tackled one of the most critical gaps in the existing platform: the ability to surface intelligence in a way that’s meaningful to CISOs, stakeholders, and operational teams alike. We designed a reporting experience that tells a cohesive story; one that flexes to suit different audiences while remaining grounded in industry standards and clear, justifiable data. From high-level summaries to detailed performance analysis, the prototype showed how intelligent reporting could become a core, scalable product capability that doesn’t just show data, but drives action.

Both visions point toward a future where Immersive Labs becomes not just a tool for skills development, but a platform for insight, clarity, and confidence at every level of cyber resilience.
